Why can't I concentrate on studying?
Right now I’m in college, 3rd year electrical training. It’s a 10 week course, its pretty intense, but so far I’m doing well, sitting at about 92%. In class when the teacher is teaching us I can concentrate and I usually understand everything better than the other classmates. But when I have to study at home… I just can’t do it. When it’s the weekend and I have some studying to get … Continue reading

Alternate Power Source Please (READ DESCRIPTION)?
Hi, I’ve asked this question before but the answers were not at all helpful. Okay, so I’m doing an independent project involving 60 watt light bulbs. I know all the wiring and circuits but I just have one problem: the power source. I bought two 6 volt batteries without giving thought to how much power was needed for the light bulbs. The batteries are not powerful enough for 60 watt light bulbs … Continue reading

If you go to a school to be an electrician, then what do you do after that?
I go to a tech school and I’m a freshmen and was wondering after going through the 4 years of high school (2 years of it is electrical training) you become an apprentice. An apprenticeship is 1 on 1 training with a journeyman electrician. I was reading about it and all I get is stuff telling me I have to go to school while I’m an apprentice. If I am already learning … Continue reading
How much power can I get from hand crank chargers?
ok let me be clear… I dont want a "cant be done, not worth it" cop out answer, Im not asking about practicality. Im talking about possibilities.. I have taken aircraft electrical training but that was a couple years ago and had a pretty decent electrical understanding, let it slip and rusty…. answers preferred from people with electrical experience, and please dont bother me with suggestions of solar.. that said here’s the nitty … Continue reading

plug stuck in outlet
Old, old hand mixer. Still works great. Used it today and now the plug is stuck in the wall outlet. What needs to be done? I am thinking the metal separated — maybe I can shut off the breaker and use a popsicle stick or a toothpick to flatten it enough to come out? Or, what? I am older female, I don’t mind some minor do it yourself projects, but I don’t … Continue reading
